I spent my President's Day weekend in the city of Brotherly Love. That's right, I can now add Philadelphia to the list of places I never intended to go to but have. I was able to travel to attend the memorial service for Susan's husband, Dan. It was a nice tribute to his life. My sisters, Megan and Jessica along with Jessica's husband, Matt had planned on visiting us in Phoenix that weekend so Rob was not alone for the 5 days I was gone. Rob keeps telling everyone that with all the time off from motherhood I was having a hard time getting back into the swing of things. I am going to blame my impatience on the sore throat I brought back with me.
I had the pleasure of spending time with my sister Amy's family on my trip. They drove up from Maryland and invited me to the Franklin Science Museum with them. My niece, Sophie, is 8 and nephew, Hugh, is almost 3 and they seemed to have fun even with the holiday crowds.
The nice thing about spending time on the East Coast is seeing all the people I love but never see because they live so far away.
