I Want Candy

Easter was synonymous with candy around here. We did do a little egg dying on Saturday but the big fun came in the little plastic colored eggs. It was unusually rainy the day before Easter so my big plan for an egg hunt in the backyard was foiled so we moved indoors. Elaine loved the hunt and made it hard for Charlotte to get any eggs but that didn't matter much. As soon as Charlotte discovered candy she was distracted and once she knew chocolate was involved it was all over.

Chalk and Egg dye on the hands and shirt take some hard work to remove.

This is the "I may have had a little too much" look.

C is for Cookie...and Charlotte

This is a girl who loves sweets. This morning right after breakfast she decided she needed cookies. She walked herself into the kitchen and stood in front of the freezer letting me know very loudly she was going to need something out of there. When I opened the freezer she did not have to look around for what she wanted. A bag of cookies that Elaine and I made was apparently calling to her. She felt she needed not one but two cookies: one for each hand of course. She didn't finish either of them but carried them around until all the sprinkles were sucked off. No wonder she and Elaine can wear almost the same size in clothing. She is a girl of very few words but she communicates very well when she needs something.

The Wise Man Built His House Upon the Rock

When you only have rocks in your backyard you have no other choice. Yes, we are now one of those families my brother described as having a "hulking" Little Tikes structure in our yard. We put it together last weekend and as you can tell the girls couldn't even wait to get dressed to enjoy it. Our "sand stays in the sandbox"rule did not last long.
