Mom, I'm not scared anymore

This was Elaine's announcement the other morning when she came into our room. What was she scared of before? I have no idea but she is no longer scared because Charlotte is now sleeping in the room with her. All these months of tears and throwing up at bedtime solved by giving her a buddy to share her room. It has only been a few nights but they aren't waking each other up which was my biggest concern. I have been so worried about it I am having a hard time sleeping in anticipation of "tonight"being the night where they both are hysterically crying. Obviously, I need to calm down.

You Make Bath Time So Much Fun

One of the best ways to keep both girls occupied is the bath. They just love it. Charlotte especially does not want to get out. She is very patient and usually thinks it is funny when Elaine pours water on her head. Elaine loves to play "pretty mermaid" by laying in the water and letting her hair swirl around her head. I just like that I only need to supervise rather than provide the entertainment.

Just Plain Lazy

I haven't been blogging as much lately and in my mind I was blaming it on lack on picture taking. Yesterday I realized it was not lack of taking the pictures but laziness in uploading. Here are a couple cute shots from the last week.

This is as close to crawling as Charlotte gets. She gets up on her hands and knees but if she can't reach what she wants from this position she just sits back down as if to say "I did not really want it anyway".

Elaine has taken to playing baby with everything. Here she is lovingly feeding her baby. She was very particular about what bottle this baby would use. I offered three and this is the only one she thought the baby would like.
Yes, these are matching outfits. I am not huge into matching but Elaine thinks it is SO fun when they are dressed the same.

Best Friends

They fight and make each other cry but mostly they laugh.

We just love these little girls.

9 Months

Nine months goes a lot faster when you are not pregnant. I can't believe Charlotte is so old. When Elaine was 9 months she looked like 3 months so to have a big baby is a huge change. Charlotte tipped the scales yesterday at 21 lbs to Elaine's 26 lbs. Both girls got shots yesterday but the tears were shorts lived for both of them. Elaine cried for a second and then said to the nurse "you hurt me." Elaine was very concerned about Charlotte's well being the entire visit to the pediatrician. She kept saying "it's ok sister".

Build your Favorite Toy

This week Elaine and I had our first experience with Build a Bear. When given her choice of animal she went right for the Panda Bear. She didn't hesitate or go back on her decision. Her favorite part of the whole process was the heart that goes inside. She actually was carrying around 7 of them. One she put in her bear the other 6 came home in her pocket.

She loves the "home" for her bear. She puts in the bear in the box and takes it out, carries the box to a different room and starts all over again. She told me yesterday that her panda is her favorite toy and she loves it.
What did Charlotte get out of the excursion? Some fancy decorations specially placed by her big sister. She didn't even cry when I peeled the stickers off of her tender skin. Oops, I should have been watching my kids better.

Sleeping under the Stars

We decided to enjoy the cool 98 degrees the other night by looking at the stars. Elaine is not usually awake after dark but when she is she always tells us she wants to see "my stars in the sky". It was not enough to just look. She brought pillows and blankets from her room so she could gaze comfortably with her dad.

Elaine did have to take a break to go pick Aunt Megan up from the airport. As soon as Megan was out of the car she joined our junior astronomer outside.
